New „Economic Recovery Fund“

The Latin American and Caribbean Network of Fair Trade Small Producers and Workers (CLAC) announced a new tool that aims to support Small scale Producer Organizations to face the negative effects of the economic crisis generated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Recovery Fund will start with 835.000 US-Dollars in financing. “Through the Economic Recovery Fund, small scale producers will be able to better cope with the economic crisis, promoting initiatives to diversify their production and stimulate food sovereignty, produce organic inputs, and diversify markets. By helping FAIRTRADE organizations we are supporting a recovery based on justice, which allows us to move towards more equitable and solidarity business models”, said Miguel Ángel Munguía, president of CLAC´s board of directors, thanking the different partners who have provided resources to this initiative.
